Frequently Asked Questions
Do credit repair services work for everyone?
Credit repair services aren’t for everyone. Credit repair can help you remove inaccurate, unfair, or unsubstantiated negative items from your credit reports. However, if the negative items on your reports are accurate, they cannot be removed. Credit repair is most effective if you have, or suspect you have, errors in your credit profile.
If you’re unsure whether credit repair is the right choice for you, we recommend completing our free online credit assessment.
Do credit repair services work for everyone?
It’s difficult to predict exactly how long it will take to repair your credit, as each credit report is unique. However, last year alone, Financially Fit & Lit clients saw over 4 million removals from their credit reports, with most staying with us for an average of six months. Learn more about the credit repair timeline and how we count removals.
Additionally, Financially Fit & Lit offers various service levels, with each upgrade providing stronger and more comprehensive credit repair solutions.
How long do negative items stay on your credit report?
Absolutely not – in fact, we encourage you to regularly check your credit score and credit reports. Checking your own credit is considered a “soft inquiry” and does not affect your credit score.
A “hard inquiry” occurs when you apply for a new line of credit, such as a credit card, and a lender checks your credit. Multiple hard inquiries in a short period can negatively impact your credit score.

How long do negative items stay on your credit report?
Most negative items will naturally fall off your credit report after seven years, though some may take up to 10 years. However, the credit grantor or bureau can choose to remove a negative item at any time, especially if you provide a valid reason. If you’d prefer not to wait that long, credit repair is an excellent alternative to help speed up the process.
